First night camping
The ranger , who was minding the place on a voluntary basis in his camper let me use his wi-fi. good of him.
Met my neighbours in the site nnext to mine.Chris and Tracy. they were kyacking for the weekend from Tacoma. Kindly treated me to share their dinner. We had some good crack around the camp fire. Chris is intomountain rescue as a volunteer. Told me some hair raising stories .... Headed to the scratcher at about 10pm for the3 first night under the stars. Next morning early was cold foggy and damp. Beautiful at that time in the forrest. I knew my clothes would dry when the sun gets up. Cris and Tracy came to the rescue again with some nice hot coffee. Set me up for the morning.
Heading out of PotLatch heading for Montesano. nice rolling road. This is all indian reservation country. They have their own laws. Sell fireworks and own casinos and they do it with a vengence. 53 miles agood ride takesme to Montesano. Nicely tired. Then the sting in the tail that no one told me about. a 2mile straight up climb to the lake Silvia. A Murder Picture of a climb to the campsite. I meet the big group who I picked up the other day and theyinvite me to dinner with them. Nice conversation sharing experiences. Bed by 9.30 sleep all night and up at 6am to decamp and get moving. Get my american mobile activated after a frustrating hour. Who said the americans were progressive. Its 3rd world when it comes to communication. We would leave them in the halpenny place. Head off to Raymond over some hairy forrest roads.
